Team-build, network and fundraise for your local Hospice in the Franklins £50 Challenge
Earlier this year the Franklins £50 Challenge, sponsored by Franklins Solicitors LLP, challenged local businesses to collaborate and use their business acumen to raise as much money as possible for local charities by investing and reinvesting their £50 ‘seed’ money in fundraising endeavours in order to raise as much as possible for the Hospice.
Nearly £50,000 was raised in total from the entire challenge this year, just over £17,000 of that was raised by businesses within Northamptonshire for Cynthia Spencer, and now the Hospice is asking businesses to get involved again by coming up with new and innovative ways to raise money while also creating networking and team building opportunities for their staff. The 2019 challenge is to raise £30,000 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice, which could fund 150 days of community specialist palliative care.
Chelsea Galpin, corporate partnerships fundraiser at the Hospice said:
“For this year’s Franklins £50 Challenge we’re encouraging businesses to come up with brand new ideas including initiatives that will maximise staff team-building and also create networking opportunities that will engage the local business community such as quizzes and games nights."
“The challenge is about businesses getting the most out of taking part as much as it is about generating income for the Hospice. We work hard to nurture strong partnerships with local businesses and want them to feel the benefits of entering into a partnership with us and receive as much PR and social media exposure as we can give them. This year we are also challenging each business to use their social media platforms to challenge their colleagues, contacts, competitors and suppliers to take part in the challenge.”
Gary Wilson of GPW Consulting Limited has signed up a team for the challenge and said:
“GPW Consulting Limited is very pleased to be taking part in the Franklins £50 Challenge 2019. This will test our ability to work under pressure to make a profit on an investment and support the charity which does fantastic work to help families and patients suffering from palliative conditions including cancer. Cancer affected both myself and Neil who lost our Dads to this horrible disease. Cynthia Spencer Hospice deserves all the support and funding possible and we urge people to get involved and support with this challenge.”
Gary continued: “In fact I’ve already thrown down the gauntlet to several of my contacts in the local business community to take us on by entering teams into the challenge and see who can raise the most for the Hospice.”
Chelsea concluded: “As Gary has done, it would be great if all the businesses who sign up could nominate another business to join the challenge too as the more teams that take part the more will be raised for vital Hospice care for our patients and support for their families. The Franklins £50 Challenge is on!”
Last year teams came up with all sorts of fundraising ideas from selling homemade chilli and flipping pancakes to car washes and keep fit classes. One business even made and sold bring pink slime.
