Hawksbys in Wellingborough has been a fixture in the town since 2001. Now the estate agency is entering an exciting new phase as founder Martin Hawksby has stepped down and sold the business to his directors.

The new owners are Chris Perrin, Sales Director, Lettings Director Sid Ibrahim and business partner William Mills.

The trio are looking to build on the success and good reputation already in place at the company and will continue to use the Hawksbys branding that both Chris and Sid were instrumental in creating as part of a re-branding exercise 18 months ago.

The sale came about after Chris approached Martin with an expansion proposal he had put together. Discussions evolved and resulted in Chris, Sid and Will acquiring Hawksbys in August of last year.

Chris said: “Both Sid and I have been at Hawksbys for 14 years and know the business inside out. We also recognise how well-regarded it is by the people of Wellingborough and are excited about driving the business forward.”

Plans for 2017 and beyond include working with charities and schools in the local area to benefit the community. The company has already established a relationship with one charity that will see it donate money from each house sale and the Hawksbys office become a designated drop off point for donations.

"We are also incredibly excited about the future of Wellingborough."

Hawksbys is also looking to increase its market share and change the perception of estate agencies as a whole through an honest and open relationship with its customers. Hawksbys has a contemporary website which includes a user friendly ‘ free’ instant online valuation tool for both buyers and sellers alike. In addition there are great features including top tips on moving house and quality photographs with floor plans. As their website says ‘A picture paints a thousand words’

“The housing market is buoyant right now but there is an issue with low stock and meeting the demand for new homes,” adds Chris. “We offer our clients a fast sale or let with excellent customer service. We are not pushy sales people. We are honest, trustworthy, nice guys who want to do the best for our clients. Reviews on their website support this statement, demonstrating what both experienced and first time buyers and sellers think of the great service.

“We are also incredibly excited about the future of Wellingborough. The multi-million pound Rushden Lakes shopping development is coming to the region which, as well as creating leisure facilities and jobs, will attract people to the area to live. There are also several new housing developments under construction which will help with the low stock issue. We believe that Wellingborough is very much an ‘up and coming’ place and Hawksbys is proud to be a part of it.”
