County business scoops top motor industry award

Rushden based business Croyland Car Megastore took pole position at the Motor Trader Industry Awards scooping Sales Team of the Year.

The accolade was presented at the prestigious annual Motor Trader Industry Awards, widely considered as the industry’s Oscars, which recognises and celebrates all that is best in modern motor retailing. Having received a record number of entries this was the most competitive awards yet and Croyland Car Megastore’s sales team triumphed in the competitive category at the first attempt despite being pitted against some big-name rivals. Croyland’s General Manager, Mark Swindells, said: “To win this award is such as achievement for Croyland, and it’s a testament to our team’s consistent hard work and dedication to their roles.

“Congratulations go out to the brilliant team who make up Croyland and we would like to extend a thank you to our loyal customers for continuing to choose Croyland as their car dealer.” The team were announced as winners at the annual awards dinner hosted by Alexander Armstrong, presenter of the popular TV quiz show Pointless.

The Motor Trader judging panel noted Croyland’s working dynamic that mixed the competitive edge needed for successful vehicle sales with a genuine team spirit coupled with a sense of team responsibility. The Rushden dealership’s low staff turnover was highlighted during the judging process alongside Croyland’s high ratio of repeat custom which is due to its successful sales team and their expertise.

The Croyland sales team’s drive and motivation has translated into increased sales for the company which delivered a marked improvement in performance in 2018 compared to the previous year.
