Region’s finest engineering brains gathering under one roof to show case their businesses at Kettering Expo

Kettering will be hosting some of the finest businesses in the engineering industry later this year.

The inaugural East Midlands Engineering Expo is taking place at Kettering Arena and Conference Centre on Wednesday, October 23rd, with some of the biggest names in the electrical, mechanical and construction sectors showcasing their services and products to visitors from all over the East Midlands and beyond.

Organised by Kettering based Polka Dot Events Management, the Expo was the brainchild of the two directors of the Earls Barton based project management specialists Dobbs & Bond, who are sponsoring the event. Craig Dobbs and Liam Bond both thought that bringing a wealth of businesses from the engineering industries together under one roof would be a perfect opportunity to promote themselves, to network, and make valuable connections.

“We’re really excited that an idea we’ve talked about for some time has now developed into an event that’s going to take place later in the year, and it’s going to be a fantastic day,” said Craig Dobbs. “What’s more, I’m delighted it’s taking place in Kettering, with the opportunity to showcase our town to visitors from far and wide.

“The East Midlands Engineering Expo will give some of the best businesses within the industries the opportunity to promote themselves at a business to business event; giving them the opportunity to build and maintain long-term business relationships, bringing together clients, contractors, consultants and many more.

“It will be an excellent platform to build and maintain relationships for professionals within the electrical, mechanical and construction industry, giving us all the opportunity to share knowledge, network, and build relationships between sellers and buyers.”

Kerry Bate, of organisers Polka Dot Events Management, said she was delighted to be asked to organise the Expo, and is looking forward to the opportunity to put Kettering on the map.

She said: “This is going to be an awesome event for the engineering industry, and when Craig and Liam approached me with the idea I jumped at the chance – this is a fantastic opportunity for those in the engineering industry to get together under one roof for a day, and the response is really encouraging.

“For me personally, as someone born and bred in Kettering, it’s also a great opportunity to put my town on the map to visitors from far and wide – our town is in the heart of Northamptonshire, with excellent road and rail links, and is an ideal alternative to major city events by way of access, relaxing surroundings and an enjoyable experience for all.”

The East Midlands Engineering Expo takes place at Kettering Arena and Conference Centre, Thurston Road, Kettering, NN15 6PB on Wednesday, October 23rd, from 9am to 4pm.
