A brand new business centre has been unveiled at the Eckland Lodge Business Park in Desborough.
The Lincoln Building was officially opened by the Mayor of the Borough of Kettering, Councillor Scott Edwards, who cut a ribbon in front of around 50 specially invited guests.
The opening ceremony was the final stage of a build that started back in the summer of 2016 and saw the owner of the site, Daniel Howes and his team knock down an old farm building and start again from scratch, constructing a two-floor brick and ironstone building complete with slate roofing, granite flooring and oversized walnut internal doors.
Housing 10 offices, with six located on the ground floor and four on the first floor, the Lincoln Building also boasts vaulted ceilings, chandelier lighting in the reception area, shower facilities, meeting room, a kitchen in each office suite, countryside views and a wealth of free parking.
The creation of the Lincoln Building has also brought benefits to tenants in the other already established buildings at Eckland Lodge Business Park, including a new roadway and the installation of a fibre cabinet, giving them access to superfast broadband.
The Lincoln Building will be managed on a day-to-day basis by business park manager Leigh Parkin.
She said: “We wanted to hold an official opening event, not only to show off the finished building of which we are extremely proud, but also to recognise and thank the people who have helped us to make it happen such as our solicitors, contractors, materials suppliers, Desborough Town and Kettering Borough Councils, local agents and other tenants on the business park.”
Out of the 10 offices, six have already been let and tenants are already starting to move in.
“We are really excited to be at this stage where we are seeing people’s faces as they see what we have achieved with the Lincoln Building,” added Leigh. “From the signing of the agreement to now we have taken lots of photos and to see the transformation is amazing – in fact, we played these photos on a loop during the event.
"When we came up with the plans, we purposely wanted to create luxury office accommodation and something that was of a high specification and good quality finish, using the finest materials and latest technology. We have also made a point of using as many local suppliers as possible on the project to deliver this. The finished building is simply beautiful and we are extremely proud of it. This has been a dream of ours and now we are seeing it come to fruition with businesses moving in and enjoying the building.”
