Leonard Smith, Logistics Manager at Alpro, said: “Absolutely shell-shocked and proud of Paul’s win, not that he doesn’t have the ability, but you never know, and for some reason with some of the earlier winners by category ‘not including Paul’s’ I thought his chances were narrowing, but he did it – well deserved! He told me before the day he had been ‘brushing up’ and I think it is great for Paul and our company as it does demonstrate we do take their training seriously. It’s also good for our training provider Pegasus and of course the area/region and industry. It will prick up people’s interest and raise the bar for next time –

well done Paul!”

Tony Bellott - Chair of the Northamptonshire Logistics Forum said:

“It’s great to see the skills demonstrated by the FLT Drivers, they are key to the success of the logistics sector in Northamptonshire. The Northamptonshire Logistics Forum was set up to represent and showcase the sector and today has been a great collaboration between businesses in the county to set this up. The competition is a truly collaborative event and we would like to thank all the companies who supported the event, plans are in place for next year!”

Howdens sponsored the Winners Cup – this will be held by company in recognition of their winning Fork Lift Truck Driver until the next competition in 2020. Plans are already in place for the 2020 competition – if you would like to take part or get involved please email
