Over £200 million of residential development leads to new office opening

Solihull-headquartered Hayfield has taken office space in Milton Keynes to support seven development sites with a combined GDV of £205 million. The new office will also pave the way for continued growth.

A 2,000 sq ft office suite at Opal Court on Opal Drive in Milton Keynes will be the workplace for six senior members of staff initially, with new members of the team to be recruited next year. The fit-out – to include a boardroom and open plan workspace – is due to complete by mid-December.

The new office comes on the back of the launch of 105 homes at Hayfield Place in the historic Bedfordshire village of Silsoe. The £43 million, 14-acre scheme has launched to the market with a completed street scene showcasing eight luxury family homes. Seven miles away in the Bedfordshire village of Clifton, construction work has commenced at Hayfield Gate – a £39 million development of 95 family homes, which will open to the public in June 2020.

An additional five development sites in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and the wider South East region are in the pipeline, which will deliver a further 292 luxury family homes. Mark Booth, Managing Director of Hayfield, said: “It has always been in our business plan to open an office in Milton Keynes because the affluent villages and towns in middle and south east England are so key to our growth strategy. However, we have arrived at this point quicker than we originally forecast because of the success of our recent land acquisition drive. In addition to our first two sites in Bedfordshire, which we acquired earlier this year, we have now secured a further five sites in the area. “The Oxford to Cambridge arc in particular has been the focus of our recent land acquisition drive. Prime sites that are within easy reach of the plethora of science parks, innovation and research facilities - while also having convenient access to mainline rail routes into central London - have been our target. While our head office in Solihull will still support some aspects of work required to deliver these new developments, the opening of this new office is critical to our business operations.”

Hayfield was established in 2016 and its outstanding quality homes, coupled with rapid expansion, has been acknowledged with a hat-trick of recent award wins. The company was crowned Best Small Housebuilder at the WhatHouse? Awards 2019 and scooped the prize for Best Customer Satisfaction Initiative and Best Small Housebuilder at the 2019 Housebuilder Awards. At the 2019 Evening Standard New Homes Awards, it won Best Family Home Under £750,000. Earlier this month, it also won Residential Developer of the Year at the Insider West Midlands Property Awards 2019.
