Following on from our interview with Suzanne Peck in 2017, All Things Business went along to see for ourselves the new spa.
As someone who has spent far too much of her life on various spa days, I was the perfect choice to review the newly opened day spa at the award winning Homefield Grange.
From the very impressive website which provided details of all treatments etc, expectations were high and on arrival I am pleased to say I wasn’t disappointed. Normally checking into a day spa can be quite stressful, especially the larger ones, however I was greeted with a calming chamomile tea and there was no rush to complete my registration form.
I was given a tour of (the day) spa and provided with my itinerary for the day along with a luxurious bathrobe, slippers, towels, a detailed map of the spa along with an explanation of how to get the best out of each area. There was also a little card that you could put in the pocket of your robe with your name on it, a simple solution to the annoying problem of someone taking your robe while you are in the sauna.
The spa itself is just stunning and it’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a space that flows and is very comfortable. All of the areas are based around an infinity hydrotherapy pool and the gentle hum of the water is so relaxing and directly above the pool is a skylight which floods the area with
I had three treatments booked and the first was reflexology and grounding foot ritual. Rachel the therapist was friendly and experienced enough to know when I wanted to stop talking. I have reflexology regularly and this treatment was one of the best I have ever experienced, I just didn’t want it to stop.
It was then time for lunch and the one part of the day I was least looking forward to as I normally do not enjoy vegan food. I needn’t have worried. The two course lunch was just divine and unlike some other day spas, I was able to relax in my robe. Complimentary teas are available and another nice touch was the fresh mint and ginger for the hot water, it really is little things like this that make all the difference.
After lunch I then had my live blood analysis with Judy. Of all the treatments I had, this is the one I would suggest you definitely have. A complete revelation that she was able to know so much about my lifestyle from a few drops of blood and I will definitely be taking her advice on board with regards to my diet and lifestyle.
My final treatment of the day was the Hamm am top to toe treatment. This was a little messy and involved being smothered in mud but such a fun treatment and my body felt so soft afterwards.
I decided to finish my day with some time on the deep relax water massage beds and I ended up spending rather longer than I had planned on them.
It's impossible for me to sum up Homefield Grange in one word… it just wouldn’t do it justice. I can honestly say that today was one of the best spa experiences of my life. They literally have thought of everything and more and I particularly like the fact that they limit the numbers so it’s never going to get crowded.
The spa just oozes class and I am already making plans for my next visit.
