Vodka distillery team up with top TV chef for food and drink showcase

A collaboration between an award-winning vodka maker and a chef who has been starring on TV screens will celebrate the very best of local food and drink.

The event will see chef James Peck of Burnt Lemon Catering create a menu based around the new range of organic and vegan drinks from Brixworth-based Jelley’s Vodka.

Guests at the event, to be held at Cellar 44 in St Mary’s Road, Market Harborough, will tuck in to a five course meal with each course served with a bespoke cocktail designed to perfectly match the flavours of the food.

Diners will enjoy scallops poached in elderflower alongside an elderflower vodka and soda before tucking into yakitori venison skewers served with a straight grain vodka with Fever Tree cola.

Guests will be served a marmite bread served with chicken dripping butter and chicken crackling, alongside a pomegranate and rosemary cosmopolitain. The main course will pair pork fillet with an elderflower Collins while fresh churros will be served with an espresso martini.

“It’s exciting to see what a top chef such as James will come up with to maximise the taste of his food and showcase the flavours of the English countryside in our new range of organic and vegan vodkas.”

James Peck, who heads up Burnt Lemon Catering and has been featuring alongside Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton on BBC 2 reality show The Chef’s Brigade, said: “The chance to team up with Jelley’s Vodka is a real opportunity to showcase the flavours of this part of the country. It’s an exciting time for local food and drink and this collaboration will mix traditional flavours with modern techniques.”

The supper club, which will be sponsored by Farrington Oils, will be held from 7pm on Wednesday, September 25.
