Inviting local businesses to the Sky Room Auditorium

The new MK Gallery in Milton Keynes, designed by 6a architects, in close collaboration with artists Gareth Jones and Nils Norman, opened on 16 March 2019.

The new MK Gallery seeks to capture the original spirit of Milton Keynes, reflecting the natural world in its polished stainless-steel exterior surfaces inspired by the city’s original grid and the geometries of the adjacent Campbell Park. It will provide spaces for major exhibitions both contemporary and historical, films, music, performance, family events, workshops, and social spaces, a place that puts a clear emphasis on community engagement, and democratic access to the best of the arts.

The new MK Gallery opens with The Lie of the Land, an ambitious exhibition spread across all five galleries curated by MK Gallery Director, Anthony Spira, with Sam Jacob, Claire Louise Staunton, Fay Blanchard, Tom Emerson, Gareth Jones and Niall Hobhouse.

The development of MK Gallery in Milton Keynes has seen the space increase to five galleries and the building of a new state of the art auditorium, a café bar, a Playscape, an independent shop and a dedicated learning studio. 6a Architects worked in collaboration with artists Gareth Jones and Nils Norman in designing the new MK Gallery which opened to the public on Saturday 16th March.

The new Sky Room auditorium, located on the second floor of the Gallery, boasts impressive views across Campbell Park has been designed as a multi-functional space able to host many different types of events and activities. MK Gallery and The Modern British Catering Company are inviting members of the local business community to experience what the venue has to offer. This will include sampling some of the menus that have been created using the finest seasonal ingredients from locally sourced suppliers and small independent producers from around the UK.

The open evening will be held at MK Gallery on Wednesday 15th May between 5pm and 7pm. Pre-registration to the event is required and guests are free to drop in at any time during the event.
