Hoggy entertains ahead of T20 Blast match

On Friday 26th July SportsAid Eastern hosted an event at Northants County Cricket Ground with guest speaker Matthew Hoggard MBE. Matthew, a former member of the England cricket team who won the 2005 Ashes tournament, who captained Leicestershire from 2010 until he announced his retirement in 2013 and previous to this he played for Yorkshire for a total of thirteen years.

Matthew entertained 230 guests with his dressing room banker and on field tales ahead of a thrilling T20 Blast game between the Steelbacks and Birmingham Bears – the Steelbacks winning in the last few minutes of the game. He also presented a SportsAid Award to David Howells, a 15 year old cricketer who plays for the Northants Steelbacks XI, he is a member of the International England Squad and has been part of the Emerging Players Programme since 2016.
