For those of us who work to live, you’ve probably got the August Bank Holiday weekend already highlighted and circled in your diary as your next long weekend. We all love a long weekend, right!? There are so many benefits to those who are able to enjoy the August Bank Holiday weekend as it’s a great time to unwind from business, relieve stress, spend quality time with family and we can all go back on Tuesday feeling refreshed and happy that we only have 4 days of work - result!
However, some of you may not be so pleased to know that the August Bank Holiday weekend is the LAST Bank Holiday of the year! Our next big break we will receive after this will not be until Christmas… this is why it’s more important than ever to take advantage of the August Bank Holiday weekend before we wave goodbye to long weekends for a while…
If you love exploring the horrible histories of the United Kingdom, then you will love exploring the Dungeons of the UK! Whether you want to meet Sweeney Todd and visit Mrs Lovett's Pie Shop at the London Dungeons, discover the Yorkshire Dungeons where Guy Fawkes was born or Escape the Plague at Edinburgh Dungeons - it’s a great, gruesome and educational day out for all the family to enjoy.
Dive under the sea and see some of the most beautiful sea life in the country, based in several locations including London, Birmingham, Brighton and Great Yarmouth! Visit one of the Sea Life Centre’s underwater worlds and say hello to penguins, sharks, turtles and some of the world’s most colourful fish.
Nothing says taking advantage of a long weekend than going to a theme park with friends, family or even colleagues for a team-bonding day! There’s a theme park available pretty much everywhere across the country. For the little ones, take them to Chessington World of Adventures or Legoland Resort, or for the bigger kids who live for thrills, why not visit Alton Towers and Thorpe Park; homes of the Smiler and Stealth.
London. The city where the Royal Family reside, Big Ben chimes and the land of the West End! There are plenty of tourist attractions to take advantage of over August Bank Holiday weekend. And only an hour away on the train from Northampton, it couldn't be a more convenient time!
