Towcester Food Festival is this weekend

Towcester Food Festival – South Northamptonshire’s biggest food and drink extravaganza – takes place this weekend.

Thousands are expected to flock to Towcester Racecourse for the annual event, which opens at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday.

New for 2019 are cheese pairing masterclasses with food writer Shane Holland and Bar Encore in Towcester will host the cocktail masterclasses.

The festival’s patron, Masterchef judge and food critic William Sitwell, will tour the 100 artisan food and drink stalls on Saturday morning.

Founder Crispin Slee said: “William has been a wonderful supporter over the years and his tour is a real highlight for exhibitors.”

Mr Slee also has a musical surprise for visitors. He said: “In a first for the festival, we will have a roaming band. They are a mighty eight piece ensemble, all with brass instruments and playing covers with a New Orleans-style twist. It will be a lot of fun.”

Towcester Food Festival boasts 100 artisan food and drink stalls, chef demos, foodie talks, award-winning street food, free wine and gin tastings, live music, children’s cookery and a free kids circus.

Bake off Star Val Stones and Paris House chef atron Phil Fanning will compliment a host of local chefs on the chef demo stage.

It takes place on Saturday June 8 and Sunday June 9, opening at 10am on each day. Parking is free.

Tickets are still available online. Please visit: www.towcesterfoodfestival.co.uk for more information.
