Are you looking for a venue that combines awesome facilities with unique attractions for an event, conference, corporate away day or team building? Whatever the occasion, look no further than Wicksteed Park. They offer everything you could possibly want for your event and so much more, guaranteeing that even the most “everyday” event will be far from boring!
The Kettering park was founded over 90 years ago by Charles Wicksteed, the pioneer of the playground; inventor of the modern day slide and swing. It boasts 147 acres of beautiful parkland and a majestic Edwardian pavilion. And if that wasn’t already enough, it has some fantastic attractions such as rollercoasters, a triple zip wire and some of the oldest thrill rides in the UK - including the famous water chute, opened in 1926! So whilst you can benefit from first rate corporate facilities and a selection of fabulous meeting rooms, you can also add a little fun to liven up your business event with rides and attractions.
Wicksteed’s beautiful main Pavilion is perfect for any event; it can cater for up to a maximum of 1,000 delegates, but is also available for smaller events. Their Celebration Suite is a bright and charming room that can hold up to 150 guests if businesses require a smaller venue and another new addition coming to the park is the New Boathouse, a versatile venue overlooking the lake.
If it’s a team building day you’re looking for, Wicksteed Park are the experts, especially if you’re feeling brave or are prepared to get wet! Your team can try their hand at paddle boarding, raft building, archery, and if you’ve got a few daring colleagues, have a go at the leap of faith bag jump. Coming to the park in October is the new Clip ‘n’ Climb attraction which will have race walls, boulders and oodles more to get your team’s adrenaline rushing! Where else can you create those kinds of memories at a business event?
No successful corporate event is complete without food! It’s so often that you’ll find a perfect venue and the food lets you down - but that’s not the case at Wicksteed Park. Guests can enjoy a fantastic range of food thanks to the skills of their new culinary team, including head chef, Dishan Perera, who has worked in top hotels around the world. Dishan is a local chef from Northampton and brings 32 years’ experience to the park. He’s joined after two years working as head chef at the 2 AA rosette restaurant at Woughton House - MGallery by Sofitel Milton Keynes.
The enhanced corporate offering is being overseen by the park’s new managing director, Ian Bartlett, who also has a new senior management team.
Ian said: “Wicksteed Park has a truly unique place in terms of the history and heritage of children’s play but also at the forefront of innovation, engineering and business.”
“It is the perfect place to inspire your work colleagues and delegates as well as giving them a memorable and exciting day.”
“The new senior management team and I want to make Wicksteed Park an employer of choice for people who want to feel that they are valued as part of a team, through recognition, benefits, incentives and training. We also want our corporate customers to feel that we are providing them with what they want and expect, and are listening to their feedback so that they want to return.”
